NEW EVENT SUPPORT VEHICLE

WE have just taken the plunge and have added a SeA New Life 48 motorhome to our vehicle fleet. It will be a great asset on some of our Challenge Events and our overseas expeditions, it is a comfortable and highly equipped vehicle.

The vehicle has 2 full size comfortable bunks in the rear. The over-cab luton bed is a king size, there is an adjustable roof vent above and individual reading lights. The television/DVD player can be adjusted to be viewed either in the lounge area or the master bed. There are plenty of 12v & 240v power supplies so there is no need to worry about power.

The double dinette makes up into a further double bed and the single dinette into a single allowing up to 7 to sleep in the vehicle. We are also rather fond of the way the single dinette can convert into a sofa for evening lounging around.

The vehicle can be attached to a site electricity supply, or can be run with the leisure battery. It carries 2 gas cylinders. There is a generous fresh water tank (110ltr) with hot water provided by gas heating. There is an internal gas heater and blown hot air system throughout the van. It also has a habitation air conditioning unit for those hot days, which functions also as an electric heater if required when cooler. The vehicle is fitted with a functioning carbon monoxide and gas detector for your reassurance.

In the kitchen you will find a good sized fridge with freezer compartment, a 3 ring gas hob, small gas cooker, sink with hot and cold running water and a high quality selection of pans, utensils, crockery and cutlery. The self contained bathroom has a separate shower cubicle, sink and flushable chemical toilet. All of the windows have net curtains, integral privacy blinds and, if opening, integral mosquito nets. There is a further good sized roof vent in the centre of the main living area.

This practical and thoughtfully designed vehicle comes with a large external garage for storing those bulkier or damp items. The rear bike rack can comfortably accommodate 3 bikes. The easy to use wind-out awning provides a large sun shade or we can add the sides and front to it, to create a very large safari room, great for relaxing in and drinking wine or beer after your first 4000m alpine peak!!

Well Done to all our Clients!

Mountains To Water has helped to raise just over £262,000.00 in 2010 for very good causes with its Challenge Events. This is down to you all taking on a Challenge, pushing yourself when it starts to hurt in order to raise this outstanding amount of money. A very good effort and as I keep saying "Happy Days".

Our Canoe / Kayak Fleet is Expanding!

We have just purchased another canoe trailer and 4 new venture ranger 16ft canoes, this will allow us to have greater flexibility on our challenge events.

New sea kayaks, in addition to our current range of sea kayaks ie Nigel Dennis Explorer singles and doubles, Valley Q-boat and Wilderness systems Tempest. we have added 4 Dagger Alchem, these kayaks are only 14ft long but are still a full sea going kayak, this will help with either novice paddlers or smaller framed people who would normally struggle with the larger 17ft kayaks.

The Snow Has Arrived...

Outstanding!! The coverage of snow and ice over the last few weeks has turned the Lake District and Pennine Hills into a winter play ground, so far we have been able to run our winter skills courses here in the Lakes. The Ice climbing has been fantastic and as for ski touring it has been amazing.

Don't be put off by the Scottish Midge....... They are not that bad really!! Catching and eating freshly caught fish and mussels while wild camping is a truly outstanding experience.
