Yorkshire Adventure Challenge

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is a walking challenge route with the circuit normally starting and ending at Horton-in-Ribblesdale, visiting the three highest peaks in Yorkshire:

Route order:

  • Pen-y-Ghent (691m)
  • Whernside (728m)
  • Ingleborough (723m)

The total distance walked is 37.5km (23.5 miles) and 1586m (5202ft) of ascent, with the aim of completing in less than 12 hours.

The peaks themselves can be pretty hostile in poor weather, and ideally walkers should have an average to good standard of fitness, stamina and some outdoors experience before attempting the challenge.

The Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge includes some of the most rugged and spectacular countryside in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

We can run the Yorkshire 3 Peaks event for small or large groups wishing to undertake the 12 hour challenge or over two days. As with all of our packages you will be provided with top quality equipment and professional instructors.

Another option is to Hike and Bike the route. This involves bike riding in between each peak. You walk up and down each peak the same way, then ride to the next peak and so on, then return to the start point. Enquire for prices.

Challenge Route:

  • Start to Pen-y-Ghent
  • Pen-y-Ghent to Ribblehead
  • Ribblehead to Hill Inn via Whernside
  • Hill Inn to Ingleborough
  • Ingleborough to Finish
